 Operation Backpack a Rousing Succcess!
We need backpacks! Thousands of homeless men, women and children live in the United States and do not have basic necessities, such as soap, toothpaste, or a toothbrush. Many shelters provide these items but the reality is that a large percentage of homeless people distrust shelters and social services that could help.
That’s why Colby’s Army decided on a grassroots approach to helping the homeless and to date we have distributed hundreds of backpacks to homeless men and women across the country. Operation Backpack provides new and gently used fully stocked backpacks to the homeless (many of whom are veterans) who for whatever reason will not utilize other services. We work with people who are in daily contact with the homeless who help us identify those who need the backpacks and deliver the packs to them. Here's how you can help. Read more
Download Our Pet Directive!
A Pet Directive is a simple legal document that outlines the custody and care of your pets if you become unable, either short- or long-term, to care for your pets yourself. Through your Will and/or Trust you can provide and make provisions for your pets by designating assets and guardians for the care of your pets. If you have a Will or Trust, you should speak to your attorney about making provisions for your pets, if you have not already done so.
You can also provide for care and custody of your pets through our Colby’s Army Pet Directive form. By appointing a temporary or permanent guardian for your pets you provide your pets with security, familiarity, and quality of life. You also prevent difficulties between your heirs and loved ones about who will provide care for your pets.

We Support Equine Assisted Activities and Therapies
Colby's Army is funding and facilitating a pilot program of equine assisted therapy for men with dual diagnoses of mental illness and addiction who are also in residential treatment. We are excited to see how the sessions translate to better interpersonal skills, socialization, focus, and anger management. Check back regularly for updates!
