Feeder schedule for Colby's Army feeders.

Please text Lisa ASAP if you need to change a scheduled feed shift, or if you see an open shift that you'd like to fill.

MONDAY:

I will feed in afternoon.I should be by briefly about 11:00 AM, then have to leave to go to the PO box in town, and the bank, and meet the roofer to sign paperwork. Then should be back hopefully before 3:00.

Am co-hosting Horses in the Morning today and Wednesday so unavailable to talk between 8:30 and 10:30 but can answer a text.

I put a "knock loudly" sign on the office door in case you have the door locked so we don't miss people if they stop by, and also a sign on the front door for people to go to the office.

To Do:

• Brush cats

• Dump any water collected in the plastic tubs by the library/schoolhouse

• Mop up any wet spots on barn floor

• Direct delivery driver to put delivery of boxes inside the barn in a dry spot.

• Open up the big boxes the un-assembled boxes arrived in.

• See if you can figure out how to put the boxes together. We will need about 150 of the small boxes assembled and about 20 of the larger ones before early next week. There are supposed to be tape guns and tape included in the delivery. Volunteers can help.

• Unpack box on big table in office with green net fly traps. Open each package with a trap in it and remove trap. We will have to figure out how to use them. Robin got one up and hanging by the office door but I think we need to have some fly bait in it. Maybe apple cider vinegar?

• We have about 15 kids coming from a school in Antioch on Wednesday and it will probably be raining. Kim can do an indoor scavenger hunt, but let's get as many paint brushes, paints, rocks, etc. together as we can all in one place.

• Let's also move everything at least three feet away from the perimeter of the mats by the saloon. If it is raining, we will bring Lex in for a lesson on horse health and we don't want Lex to lean his big head into anything or swing his butt into something. I think the paint cans under the saloon (if they are still there), are okay to leave.

• We can also set up seating for at least 15 around tables on the saloon end of the barn. I believe these are all disadvantaged inner city youth, but are all able bodied. Will need to be sure the tables they are sitting around are clear of silent auction and other items.

• Lets also move the harnesses that are on the floor by the saloon end and the saddle pads there down to the stage area. That way we can sort through all of that in one place.

• Do we need to get bottled water? Please check and text me. I can pick some up.

• Look through Grant Gopher again to see if there are any grants coming up with late July or August deadlines that deal with trails, building, remodeling, or facilities, or gardening. They add new ones regularly.

Thx!

If Julie Bendler comes (new volunteer, not sure if you have met her), she can knock down cobwebs in the barn if it is raining, or help put together boxes if they have arrived.  Tell her cobwebs are the #1 cause of barn fires, and she will need to look under chairs and benches, in corners, and up as high as she can get.

She is coming one day this week, but not sure which day. She said she'd let me know Monday.

She may bring a teenager or two with her (she has six of them). They are going through New Volunteer Orientation on Saturday, but she will need to sign a visitor release for them.  If you can't find any, you can add their names to her release.

If not raining, she can weed in the big garden, deadhead the past blooms on the red roses by the front porch, weed the hosta between the shed and the barn (the little walkway to the right of the porch), or weed eat around property. She has been bringing her own weed eater.

Not sure what of the following has been done so have left this on until we talk:

• See if you can find the dates for the 2019 Cheatham County Fair. If so, please text them to me

• Also see if you can find out how to sign up for a booth on Music on Main. Think it is the 2nd Saturday in October?? Don't sign up for it yet, though, just let me know how much it costs and where to go to sign up.

• Check Ashland City web sites to see if the theme for the 2019 Christmas Parade has been posted yet. Also what time of day the parade is

• Check Pleasant View web sites to see about their Christmas parade.  It usually is the same day as AC, but in the morning. What time does it start? Where do we sign up? Don't sign us up, I just need to know where to go if we do.

• Robin picked up some donated items on Saturday. Mostly horse stuff. It is there on the barn stage. Saddles, pitchforks, buckets, etc. Please make a general list of what was donated (4 saddles, 3 pitchforks, etc.).

• Leave silent auction bid sheets with the item, but see if we can  consolidate more, and clear another table or two.

• You can pull another 10 or so items from the silent auction for us to put on eBay. Please research them and also write a detailed description of the item to get an idea of the starting bid. and put that info on Kim's desk.
